After 22 Years On Emmerdale, Actress Elizabeth Estensen Has Left The ITV Series.

John Whiston, director of the ongoing drama and ITV North, called the actress "the natural heart and center of the Sugden family."
She added, "This is a role she embraces and one that gives Diane an image of compassion, humor, and credibility. Whenever she appears on screen as a spectator, you sigh happily and say to yourself: 'The Queen is on her throne, and all is well with the world. "
He added that actors "couldn't stay on soap that long" unless they were "really professional" and great people. "Liz is both," he said. The actress also appeared on ITV's Coronation Street from 1996 to 1998 and in The Liver Birds' BBC comedy from 1975 to 1979.
