Daniel Feetham - Gibraltarian lawyer and politician

Daniel Anthony Feetham is a Gibraltarian lawyer and politician who served as head of the Opposition and Chairman of the Gibraltar Social Democrats (GSD) from 2013 to 2017.

He was founders of the Gibraltar Labour Party in 2001. The Gibraltar Labour Party has since united with the Gibraltar Social Democrats. He got a history degree from the University of Reading and a law degree from the University of Manchester. He is a lawyer in Gibraltar and a Member of the Gibraltar Parliament.

 

From 2004 to 2006, he was a Gibraltar delegation member that negotiated a new Constitution with the UK. He co-ordinated the agree on vote campaign on the ballot on the new Constitution in 2006. The new Constitution was acquired in Gibraltar in 2007. He was chosen as one of Her Majesty's Counsel for Gibraltar in December 2016.

He was elected to parliament as a GSD member in the 2007 elections and Gibraltar's first Minister of Justice for four years. In the general election 2011, the GSD was beaten by a very narrow margin, but he was elected to Parliament 52 votes following the then leader Peter Caruana. He becomes deputy leader of the GSD. In 2013, he was elected as leader of the GSD and became head of the Opposition until 2017, when he stepped aside for personal reasons.
