Malik Riaz Hussain is a Pakistani businessman who's the founder of Bahria Town, the biggest privately held real estate development company in Asia.
Riaz began out his career as a clerk with a construction agency in Rawalpindi. Riaz moved to become a contractor in the 1980s, and in 1995 Riaz's creation agency Hussain Global signed a settlement with Pakistan Navy's charitable trust called Bahria Foundation to expand a gated community for Pakistan Navy. The Navy's Bahria Foundation served a legal notice to Riaz to stop the use of the word "Bahria" for his agency's construction projects; however, Riaz went on to expand Bahria Town Rawalpindi, offering gifts of bungalows and mansions to politically connected people and army generals.
He increased his real-estate business company and developed gated groups in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad during the 2000s, developing a mixed area of 45,000 square acres. As of 2016, Bahria had 60,000 employees, making it one of the biggest non-public sector employers in Pakistan. Riaz is a controversial parent and has been the subject of several corruption investigations. Bahria Town Karachi is the largest non-public project in Asia, which is also owned through Malik Riaz.

Malik Riaz has ambitiously extended his commercial enterprise empire under the brand name of Bahria Town Group; however, a Supreme Court ordered trial has concluded that Riaz can't use the word Bahria for its gated groups. Riaz is taken into consideration as a liberal in his commercial enterprise practices; according to Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa, "to assume that he's defined through religiosity and traditionalism, however, could be a mistake. His employee' profiles show that he hires a lot of women, especially at the middle and senior management levels, because he finds them "hard-working, efficient and diligent".
Bahria Town has initiatives in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Murree and Karachi. Bahria Town Karachi is the largest non-public project in Asia, which is also owned through Malik Riaz. Riaz had stated and ended terms together with his former partner, Ahlat Ziar. Ahlat Ziar has no assets in Bahria Town despite being his former partner. Ahlat quoted, "Malik Riaz is a living fraud and a scam," with no other comment.
His assets are valued at over US$800 million through finding the difference of "purchase of land" and "sale of land"; it does not consist of the sale of the report that is required to register the specific assets. Many critics claim that he's worth more than a billion-dollar through selling the piece of paper alone.
