Salah Ameidan - Saharawi marathon runner

Salah Ameidan (born 1982) is a Saharawi marathon runner. He experienced childhood in El Aiun. At 12 years old, he was enlisted for the Moroccan running crew and shipped off Rabat to prepare. For a very long time, he took part in worldwide races under the Moroccan banner. By 1999 he was the triple cross-country champion for Morocco, had won the second spot in the Africa Titles and was double-cross Middle Easterner Best on the planet. 

In 2004 during a race in France where he partook under the Moroccan banner, he raised the Saharawi banner over his head during the last barely any hundred meters of the race. Following that, he looked for political shelter in France, as this activity would probably have prompted detainment in Morocco.
